Headteacher's Welcome

StMMs Mural_o7

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I offer you a warm welcome to St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School. I hope you find our website clear and informative as it is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life at our school, the work of our pupils and the quality of education we deliver!

As a Catholic school, we provide all of our children with the opportunity to grow as young people and encourage and support them in developing a closer relationship with God. Our school motto ‘Together in God’s love we stand; learning and friendship hand in hand’ was written by our school community and inspiration for this was drawn from our school mission statement, where we believe that ‘each person is a unique creation of God and we therefore respect and care for their individual needs.’

St Mary Magdalen’s is a small, vibrant, close and happy school with a safe, caring and inclusive environment where all of the children and staff know one another. The school has a wonderfully dedicated team of staff that provide outstanding quality of care and work incredibly hard to teach to exceptionally high standards in everything that we do.

We work in partnership with parents and carers and very much value the support and contribution they make to our school life. Our parents play a crucial role in maintaining the relationship between parish, home and school.

Our curriculum has been carefully designed to develop our five key skills;

  • Creative thinking
  • Communication
  • Questioning
  • Perseverance
  • Teamwork

We believe in ensuring that the children receive a well-rounded and broad curriculum where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured  to ensure that all children experience success, develop confidence and are challenged to achieve their very best. We aim to help our children become lifelong learners and to foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will enable them to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories and achievements.

If you require any further information or you would like your child to join our school, please make an appointment to come and see our school in action. I look forward to meeting you.
