Mary's Mates

The Parent / Teacher Association ("The PTA"), also known as "Mary's Mates", was established to bring together parents / carers and teachers to raise money and to support the school. The activities of Mary's Mates include:

  • raising funds to help the school provide "extras" for children;
  • organising extra curricular events for parents and children;
  • running after-school clubs;
  • providing support for school trips and outings and other special events.

The group provides parents / carers the opportunity to be more involved in school life.  All parents / carer and teachers can get involved even if they only have a small amount of time available.

All parents/carers, teachers and staff at our school are automatically considered members of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). There are two main aims of the PTA. First, the PTA raises money for extra-curricular school facilities for the children. Second, we want to add to the sense of community within our school, strengthening the bond between home and school by bringing parents, staff and children together informally outside the structure of the curriculum.

The PTA has been working hard again this year to organise events to celebrate our school family and to raise money for the school. Thank you to all the friends, family and staff who have kindly donated their time throughout the year and to all the local businesses who have supported our fundraising so generously – we couldn’t do it without you!

This year we have enjoyed a fantastic Christmas fair complete with Santa’s Grotto; film shows; Christmas, St. Valentine’s day and end of year discos and our glorious Summer fair complete with bouncy slide and pony!  We hope you all had a great time at these events and look forward to more fun with you next year!

Money raised has gone to support the school in: Developing the Harris Haven to become a quiet area; creating more planting space in the Nursery/Reception playground; funding transport to sports’ day for the infants; books for children for Christmas from Santa.

More events are being planned for this year and we look forward to your support.
