Religious Education - Come and See RE

Come and See is an invitation and a promise of life for everyone. The invitation is open to all.

Jesus invited the disciples to ‘Come and See.’ They went with Jesus, spent the rest of that day with him and dedicated their lives to him.

At St. Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School, religious education plays a central part in the life of our school.

We use 'Come and See', the Catholic Religious Education programme for primary schools.

Each term the following themes are studied through the different topics in each year group:

  • Church
  • The Sacraments
  • Christian living

Our Stations of the Cross

Jesus is condemned to death Jesus picks up his cross Jesus falls for the first time Jesus meets his mother Simon helps Jesus carry his cross
Veronica wipes the face of Jesus Jesus falls for the 2nd time Jesus speaks to the women of Jerusalem Jesus falls for the 3rd time Jesus is stripped of this garments
Jesus is nailed to the cross Jesus dies on the cross Jesus is taken down from the cross Jesus is placed on the cross

Our Catholic faith encompasses everything that we do at school. At playtime we built the tomb that Jesus was buried in and a strong Church that has three crosses at the front.

Beautiful Prayer boxes that our sewing club children have made!
